Press news in....

Daniel Farke addresses the media ahead of Everton v Norwich City.

DF: Sometimes after a loss you want to go straight back on the pitch, but that's the same after a win. We had many injury problems, so the break gave us time for our players to work on getting fit.

DF: Bad news is Grant Hanley hasn't been able to train with us so far as there was a set back in his rehab.

DF: Josip Drmic was injured against Watford and it's a serious muscle injury, so he's expected to be out for about 8 weeks.

DF: Jamal Lewis is not available as he came back with an injury from international duty. He doesn't feel comfortable at the moment.

DF: The good news is Kenny McLean is available after not being able to travel with Scotland.

DF: Christoph Zimmermann is back in team training. He's a tough lad and available for the game.

DF: It's always important to be flexible. We have plans B, C, D and E, so we have to be flexible within our philosophies. We have to adapt to each opponent.

DF: You have to be convinced by your style. We built the squad in that way so you can't expect us to just park the bus or put the balls in the river.

DF: Teemu is also available after not playing the full 90 for Finland. He survived the Finnish celebrations! He's had a bit less sleep but came back in a great mood, it's important to enjoy those moments.

DF: It's important for Teemu to forget that now and focus on what he has to do for us. He will be full of confidence, so that's good for us.

DF: It's optimistic to say Zimmermann will start, but he's a big tough German fella, so can be a surprise.

DF: We have options to change the formation to deal with Lewis' injury. Hopefully we choose the right one. I trust all my players and that we have a proper group who can put in a good performance at Goodison Park.

DF: Adam Idah isn't far away, that's why we didn't send him on loan. We want him close to the group and believe he could play in the Premier League in the short-term.

DF: There's a big difference between Premier League football and youth international football, but that's good for Idah's confidence to score for Republic of Ireland.

DF: Patrick Roberts would prefer to play more, but it's important to have him for the competition. Todd Cantwell made so many steps up because of that, to keep his position.

DF: We've got Onel and Emi as well, so we have many options on the wing, so it's not easy for Patrick. He has improved a lot on the training pitch and has the chance to impress us.

DF: I don't think the players react in an unprofessional way when I don't pick them, but I want them to feel disappointed that they're not playing of course.

DF: We don't play psychological games, we're always honest in the dressing room. Young players are allowed to make mistakes, they have to learn from them and not repeat them.

DF: On this level you're punished for every mistake. You have to remember players are human beings, not just the young lads. They were used to winning games and being praised.

DF: We responded to every loss last season with a win so there was no crisis. On this level, you have difficult periods. We have to learn because we're not experienced in a relegation battle.

DF: Everton shouldn't have to fight relegation. They have potential to fight for Europe. Marco has all the abilities as a coach to lead them to that, so fingers crossed for them, but not for tomorrow.

DF: Their last few results have been good, so you could say it's not the best time to play them, but we can't change that. It will be difficult so we are respectful, but we want to win some points.

DF: It's good to have Jose Mourinho back. I like strong characters, and he was very successful with Porto and Inter Milan even when they weren't big favourites.

DF: We don't have to watch Finland to know how to get Teemu scoring, he was the player of the year last season. I'm not concerned that he won't be able to deliver for us soon.

DF: The international break allows you to work on certain things, but often your key players are away with their countries, so it's not easy to work on a tactical approach, moreso on individuals.

That's all from the boss today. The squad now make the five to six hour trip to Everton!
