Good and brave eulogies from

his eldest son and Mick Dennis. Both were obviously choked and our hearts went out to them. Made me even more (if it were possible) in love with my club. Poor old Dave Stringer (who sat in front of us) has lost a lifetime colleague and close friend. So sad.

For those interested we tried to identify old players and we recognised Peter Silvester, Max Briggs, Roger Hansbury, Kevin Bond, Ken Foggo, Bill Punton, Terry Allcock, Mick McQuire, Millie (well the bar was open), Ken Brown, and I'm sure others who the years have changed (like us old Barclay Boys) so we were not sure...

So proud. We considered (over the third bottle of red) who else the club (and the families of course) this type of funeral service could happen for...only Dave Stringer (being a local lad as well) was all we could think of?
