Long old read, and a bit rambly in places, but it's worth persevering with
Difficult to see any sort of rapprochement with Europe under this particular Government.
(not that the future is any rosier politically if we don't come out until demographics in the UK shift the debate on Europe. We've got at least a generation of this s**t)
