given Liverpool’s immediate press but after 30mins and the pressure was off, so to speak they really settled into the game and both played exceptionally well, given the state of the game.

Lewis was too lightweight in marking Van dijk at set pieces but then he never should have been marking him anyway, Hanley would have been a better option.

I think that our young players will learn from that and continue to improve anyway. If we improve this season the same rate as the last season it’s going to be a really good season for us.
