"Taught a lesson"

That's pretty much the headline most of the media are going with, that we were taught a lesson. Were we? Did we learn anything that we didn't already know? Appreciate it's not as dramatic and so doesn't make as good a headline but perhaps a more accurate line would be "got beaten by European Champions and made some mistakes".
