godaddy - not as bad as you think. does the job
siteground - doing the job well enough at present though you have highlighted Y1 to further year costs which are quite a jump with these people.
both i recall use one touch wordpress installations which I would imagine is where you're heading with simple sites with complex add ins later (woocommerce, plugins etc).
Can find plenty of free and small fee themes to suit or build yourself.
