Depends on the place.

Of the generic curries, Jalfrezi is usually a solid choice. If the place is based on a particular part of India, something you'd find in that part of India is usually the best choice of all. Always, always have some kind of dal - tarka is canonical, makhni usually good or something else. I personally go for sag and/or brinjal bhajis, depending how many we are (for two people, one main and two sides is about right for instance). I prefer bread to rice just because I can cook a decent pilau myself but not having a tandoor I can't cook a decent naan at home.
