1 - the length of Idah's contract has not been revealed. It may be up in 2019, it may be longer than that, City may have a +year option.
2 - Even if Idah was 'out of contract 'an international transfer would see City receive FIFA-mandated 'training compensation'.
3- all good players are watched by all big clubs (e.g Maddison was on the radar of Spurs & Liverpool but it was City he chose)
4 - City "run the risk" of losing any player, at any time. That is how things work.
