A few seasons back I watched a large part of a double hundred that made him the first to 1000 runs for the season, right up there with Greenidge and Richards (BA) for entertainment, but not consistent enough. Still, when I go to a Hampshire match and he comes out to bat I am full of anticipation as I haven't been for any of our batsmen since Robin Smith.
