You can’t start fiddling the seeding system at the last minute just cos you don’t like

....the results of it though. (Well you could, but would be quite stinky, and people would make a lot of noise about FIFA fixing things.)

Of course, doesn’t mean the system is sensible - we had the conversation on here the other day about how smart teams can boost their ranking by their choice of friendlies, or in particular just not playing many - but the time to address that was before you knew how qualifiers would go etc, not now.
