The thing is though Johnson puts his foot in it regularly but he does understand

the issues. Abbott just comes across as completely non-informed and yet ploughs on pretending otherwise which gets her into trouble. She clearly had not read that report she was being grilled about on sky which is pretty inexcusable given she is shadow home secretary but even so she should have just asked the interviewer to remind her of the measures not tried to bluff it.
