You could argue that the Dementia Tax is redistributive Socialism. It could
also bring down house prices, which in the short term will seem painful, but in the long term is a good thing. I'm in favour in principle, but it's how it will be implemented that worries me. On past performance the Tories will cock it up, leave the leg work to local authorities who are already unable to cope, and sell off profitable bits to predatory companies. Then we'll get yet another regulator who won't have adequate powers. This needs to be run by central government.
