Drove a Winbirri Coupe in the Mille Miglia in '52 with Rupert "Bear" Carruthers

It was all going spiffingly till the Dolomites. We had a bit of a gearbox issue. Wop mechanics lost the plot and put it back in upside down. Bear was changing down into second round a big hair pin when the whole thing flew out, taking Bear with it, right over the edge, 500 foot, wheeeeee.

Turns out he survived in a cave living in olives and he's now one of the leaders of Five Star, funny old world
