There's certainly a skill to asking daft questions. Clare Balding's very good at it.

She asked Chris Hoy why the velodrome is banked and he patiently explained that if they were leaning into a corner at full speed on a flat track, they’d all fall off. But it was informative and felt like a valid question.

If Helen Skelton asked why the water in the pool is wet, I'd be throwing things at my television.
