I think we learn't more from a positive perspective than we did a negative yesterday,
We already knew our defence was suspect and i think the manner of the defeat has only emphasised that. But SAN has made moves to improve that so there's no point going on a benny because we got beaten by Liverpool. Im sure as we integrate the new players in we'll see improvement.
Also we never look that solid when Tettey or GON are missing, again nothing new.
On the bright side though, we've learn't...
1) Naismith looks the part, and looks exactly what we've been missing in terms of linking the midfield and the lone forward. Works really hard and really led the attack well. I saw him pull Redderz aside and give him some advice too at one point which was good to see. We've missed another leader on the pitch for a while.
2) We started to see the best of Mbokani. He didnt have to drop to get the ball all the time so he could play on the backs of the defenders and really cause problems. Sexual heelpunt too.
3) We have the ability to take it to a bigger team and really grab a game by the scruff of the neck. The manner in which we virtually controlled the game up until just after the penno was really good to see. Liverpool couldnt cope until we pressed the self destruct.
4) We now have two really pacey wing backs who can cause a lot of damage as well as the wingers. We just need to make sure if they do get forward, we have players who will drop in and cover, unlike yesterday. Pinto was impressive i thought and will learn a lot from that second half.
All in all I'm impressed with that yesterday, aside from the individual f**k ups. There's a lot to be happy about looking forward.
