tbf if we had a terrorist organisation on our doorstep
that used to routinely bomb our cities, we'd probably be bombing them too. The PKK for instance is still on the NATO and EU terrorist blacklist. Supporting them currently suits a UK/EU agenda: it most definitely does not suit Turkey's agenda. From Turkey's perspective the Kurds are probably a bigger threat than ISIS.
Assad was buying ISIS produced oil at least until pretty recently. I think Damascus was also still paying for infrastucture, hospitals etc, in rebel & ISIS held territory too for a long while.
It's all FUBAR.
