saw a documentary the other day about a guy who's addicted to fruit machines in bookies

Unemployed, basically spends all his benefits on them within hours of the money going into his account. Then spends the rest of his time living off dry pasta.

What was striking was how hard he found it to avoid when he waw trying to give it up. Walking into town to buy some shoes, had to walk past about half a dozen bookie shops, all with the machines flashing away at him. Tough, whatever your addiction is (speaking as someone who's addiction has always been nicotine. 3 months 13 days off them this time - hopefully for good - and counting.)
