I think it was in the FT, I'll have a look. But basically the author made the point that Blatter's success is not about credibility or trust, but due to him being an effective broker. Regardless of how dubious his means and methods are, small associations appreciate how he manages to divvy up the goodies of the worldwide success of the game. I'm not defending him at all, but I don't think another scandal will affect his standing much. I fully expect him to be re-elected this week.
