But nothing beats it for fitness. Nothing.

Start really slowly and build up your distance slowly. Initially you'll need a lot of recovery times between runs too.

And do a full stretch routine afterwards. Never leave that out or you will get injured.

Go to a specialist sports shop to get your trainers, preferably one that does some gait analysis. And get a GPS watch so you can measure your progress: it's a great motivator.
