Yup. It was mental where I was

Rode the course up until then beforehand - was great atmosphere, loads of people out and so friendly (and some great climbs - I need to ride around there again).

Al this is in sharp contrast to London, which has basically done f*ck all in preparation for this. On way home late last night, drove from the Lea Bridge Road - the route they'll be taking into London. You would have had *no* idea anything was happening the following day. And there were still parked cars everywhere.

At best, it'll just be a bit low-key and embarrassing. At worst, something will go wrong because of the shambolic lack of preparation and awareness of it.

Understandable in a way, because the build-up has all been about 'Yorkshire's Grand Depart' - very little has been done to get people down here even remotely excited. But still annoying.
