What Ingerlund needs

What the national team needs is proper representation of our ranking (the current FIFA rankings are a joke) and accordingly a really f**king tough qualifying group for a major championship (recent ones have been gimmes). This would show the team, the management and the fans that there is no entitlement to be at these events and that participation is hard earned. The problem is the whole perception that England should be a strong team - there is a no God-given to this. Take Belgium - they've been in the wilderness for years (because they were s**t), but now they have managed to build a solid team and are deservedly being taken seriously again. Unlike England who rely on this bizarrely good reputation and high expectations.
