We are only in that position because of Lambert

and that appointment was a fluke in amongst a bunch of nutty decisions.

We're just incredibly lucky that one manager did a brilliant job for us after the board led us to league one with huge debts after a succession of dreadful appointments, while the rise in the prem tv money came at just the right time for the club.

What happens from here on in will be the true indicator of what the board are really like, especially now that we have no debt and a strong squad. If this goes tits up then they can only blame themselves for erasing Lambert's good work.
