We have quite a few out of contract (6 or 7 who will probably move on), plus three on loan

On the basis that the average released player is on 20K a week (some will be on less, many on much more) then that's already ?10 million erased from the annual wage bill. That's a low estimate and doesn't take other drops into account either.

The problem after that is that we will need replacements, but if we can only buy after selling then how can we replace those players?

Like I said before ?5 million is nothing in football terms when you begin without debt in the first place. If we need that money in order to bolster the squad and compete then it's more of a risk to not spend.
