Hmm, 'quite a few'...

All I remember is that Bleacher Report article, and maybe a few posters on here. Of course it was a gamble, but the point is no one knew with certainty that he would fail before he arrived. These moves are always a gamble, and for anyone to claim 'they saw this coming' just sounds like grandstanding to me. Particularly when there's no evidence that they even said it (cf. McClaren).
