Nothing was better before the internet.

Though I may get nostalgic for the days of returning from a Saturday league game to the pub, having my pint and scoffing the sarnies & chips supplied for the team whilst fixated on the big square telly up in the corner of the room on constant rotation through the Ceefax latest scores pages to see if there's an update from Carrow Road.

Or the days of killing time nearby a newsagent post-match to pick up the Pink 'Un as soon as it was delivered - though my match reports only ever made the Lowestoft Journal - I think I only got into the Pink 'Un as a goalscorer just the once in my later years in the Norwich & District.

Or the far earlier days of the vidiprinter on Grandstand and Saint & Greavsie.

Or tons of other early footy memories that are sure to go off topic. But supporting City-wise, I'd be effectively alone without the internet; many of my early games were solo efforts, train and back, sitting alone at the match (though I did go with mates occasionally too). Then I got into the Wrath as a lurker at first, too afraid to dip his toe for fear of having it bitten off, then full-on posting circa play offs season. I think we all started meeting up post the final, so then I had a community to socialise with pre and post match and then again when I got home and back online.

Without the internet I couldn't be f**king about at three am reading and writing bollocks on a footy forum for City supporters - and that's got to be progress!!
