which would immediately take at least ?750k off the price Villa pay us in terms of net effect when you factor in prize money that'd we'd then miss out on. Plus you have the tantalising prospect of Villa possibly going down without him, which would remove a rival team from the picture for a season or two.

As a business decision, I'd probably sell him and deploy the capital elsewhere. But whilst football is a business, it's still a competition so you can't ignore the intangible value of not assisting a rival.

(Unless we know something about Wes that they don't, and we're very confident that he wont be that much help to them)
