At the start, I expected us to be in the position we are now in at this stage. After 3-4 games, I thought we'd be where QPR/Reading are by now. So, in a glass half-full way, things have improved.
To be fair to Hughton, he did great work between Sept and Dec. It has unravelled since because of injuries to key players, over-reliance on G Holt - who lost form, failure to sign a decent new striker (not through lack of trying), tactical predictabilty (see earlier post) and outrageous crap refereeing decisions against us. We now find ourselves where I originally thought we would be at this stage - an expectation based on our modest financial resources and playing staff. We're still in the mix. The momentum is against us, but we seem to do better when expected to fail. Sunday is MASSIVE.
