If we beat the Baggies and they lose to Chelsea we'll be back above them. And even if he does finish higher I find it ridiculous how people make sweeping judgements about managers based on tiny margins and things they have no control over. Without that last minute goal yesterday we'd be above Villa despite a considerably smaller budget and yet because of that one split second we're supposed to deduce that Lambert is a genius and Hughton is a useless muppet who should be sacked. I'm not saying Hughton is a better manager than Lambert (football is too complex to make such a judgement confidently) but I bet in terms of points per pound spent he is doing better.
