A guide to using your clapper

1. Conceal the clapper in the first instance. The Villains must not be aware of your secret weapon.

2. Observe your side getting a tonking of epic proportions. Exhaustion, bleeding and an acceptance of defeat are good indicators that you are reaching the turning point.

3. Slowly withdraw your clapper from your person, and commence rhythmic clapping.

4. As you clap, work this with fellow supporters so that it becomes a synchronised chorus of clappage.

5. Gradually increase tempo and observe City players pick themselves off the floor and proceed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
