it's a bit unfair to think of Allerdyce as the same as Pulis. Pulis genuinely likes attritional long ball Hit Crouch Early football , get loads of fouls in and bully the oppo stuff.

While Allerdyce isn't afraid to use those tactics occasionally, or even more than occasionally, he has got other ways of playing. He had Jay Jay Okocha for years and years at Bolton. You don't do that if you're purely a Hump and Rush merchant. similarly that Spanish lad with the big hair of the same vintage.
