Thought HS was a tad insensitive... sorry to hear about you cat - I
would suggest going to your local rescue centre as if you get an adult cat in most cases the centre will have some history on it as to what type of cat it is.
On the point of killing things mine has had a few birds but mostly he likes to bring me mice, rates, voles, squirrels, rabbits and most recently he has become adept at catching MOLES!
