not everything that happens on the football pitch is under the manager's control.
For example last season at Anfield we were a total defensive shambles from start to finish but Liverpool contrived to miss chance after chance and we escaped with a 1-1 draw. Cue most people on here describing it as a great performance and Lambert as having done a great job. On Saturday Liverpool were totally ruthless with theonsiderably less chances that they had with the consequence that we get stuffed and people start calling Hughton 'clueless'. Liverpool's finishing ability on any given day isn't within the manager's power to control.
Our best pacy creative players (Pilks/Benno) have been injured pretty much all campaign and yet we have had teh chances to get good results in every game since the first one. The fact that our players haven't taken those chances isn't Hughton's fault, it's theirs. Hughton's job is to put out a team that has a good chance of getting a result and he has done that. The palyers just haven't executed in crucial areas at crucial times.
