We were going to move to Norfolk when I was 11

Dad passed a promotion board in Post Office Telephones and the first job that came up that he fancied was in Norwich. He stayed up there in lodgings for several months and I started following NCFC, was all ready to go, looking forward to it.

This was the mid-60s and houses were difficult to sell and buy. Eventually, unable to sell our house he moved back to his old job and got promoted there about a year later.

I stuck with NCFC and eventually went to UEA, purely because of the location.
