ah, the great myth about our tough fixtures

the tough part of the season is not when you play the big teams AWAY from home, it is when you are playing them at home. If you are playing them away, as we generally have been, it means you probably have a winnable home game before and/or after.
When you play them at home however it means unless you can win an away game you are looking a winless streak straight in the face.
Check out our fixtures from April 9 to May 5 as an example, which include home games against Liverpool and Manchester City. Without a winnable home game it means that unless we can win away at Blackburn (possible but certainly not easy or likely) it looks very much like a five game winless streak heading our way at the business end of the season.
The fixtures have been very kind to us so far, and the points we have accumulated are probably towards the lower end of what would be required at this stage to stay up (but they are certainly in the range so our survival chances are surely no worse than 50-50).
