I think...

Martin was injured for a large swathe of last season but even allowing for that, he hardly hit the goalscoring heights of the previous campaign. That said I still think he is a very important player but hen isn't going to be first choice.

Holty is Holty and we all want to see him do exactly what he did this season and prove the doubters wrong. He'll play, but whole games for the whole season is an unlikely prospect.

Jackson, on the back of his end of season form is a sure starter but even with Vaughan signing I still think we need at least one more striker and both Morrison and CMS fall into Lambert's criteria.

One of them woiuld make five strikers and allowing for loss of form and injuries you' want at least that many to pick from.

I think it is good we are in for several players at once and not putting all our eggs in one basket as in previous years. Looks like we mean business too, unlike the disaster last time we went up when we ended up signing Gary Doherty as a striker just before the season started.

Talking of the Doc, I note a comparitive lack of speculation about prospects for his actual position, that of centre half. This is one area I feel really needs shoring up. We shipped a lot of goals for side that finished second, mainly due to our style of play and although I think Barnett looks a Premiership player, I'm not sure who his partner will be.

Just some thoughts....
