Oh yes, in, and driving at around 30mph.

Going down a hill, in the left of two lanes, with the right lane nose-to-tail with queueing traffic. My lane was nice and empty so I was pootling down at about 30.

Guy coming up the hill in the other direction wanted to turn into a side-road to his right, and presumably got a flash and a wave from one of the queueing cars. So on he went, without looking into my lane, right into my path. No time to swerve, nowhere to swerve to even if I had the time, just a split second to stick the anchors on, and hope.

Hit him square-on, on his passenger door with an almighty crump.

He's admitted liability, as he should, as it was entirely his fault.

No-one hurt. If he'd had a passenger in there, there might've been some trouble - i stoved his door in pretty comprehensively.

Preliminary report from the Wedge Doctor is ?3,000 worth of damage, so very unlikely to be a write-off, unless his more detailed check next week uncovers structural damage.
