Get a couple of coathangers out of your mum's wardrobe,

un-twist the top bits and discard. Straighten out the remaining into two lengths, about a quarter of the way up bend them at a perfect 90 degree right angle. Now hold each piece, one in each hand, with the smallest part pushed into your clenched fist. Don't clench too hard, they must be able to pivot smoothly.

Now walk out of your front door, and keep on walking. Stop when the ex-coathangers swivel and cross over themselves. You have found a stream. Or a puddle. Or maybe just some piss.
