All seems a bit desperate to me

If you step back and look at the actual offence, all they did was buy a player in an unconventional way.
It's an independent panel anyway with only one FA member, so no-one knows what's going to happen. There's a lot of talk about precedence but it rarely seems to apply to FA decisions.
But Firstnews point about the bet is valid.
