The Thing About Ipswiich And Their History...
...and yes, they do bang on and on and on about it. League Champions, Sir Alf, FA Cup winners, UEFA Cup winners, runners up in the old Division One a few times and some great players-for England especially, then there is Sir Bobby Robson, they do have a history, undoubtedly...
Which the fans do enjoy throwing right at us, even, as we are finding, after yesterday.
So, with that history, pedigree of winning trophies, great players and Managers...
...why have they accepted such underachievement for so long??
When did they last win a trophy? 1981?
30 years without a trophy.
Yet, and here we go again, on and on and on they go about their history, tradition, successess, players, Managers...
But happy to accept mediocrity for the last 30 years.
If I was supporting such a "big club", I'd be more worried about when we were going to reach those heights again, rather than constantly looking to score tenuous points against their over-achieving neighbours up the road!
