Anyone come across the book 'My Favourite Year'? - a collection of different writers'
thoughts on their favourite football season. D J Taylor has an excellent chapter on the 1992/3 Norwich season.
It was published in 1993/4 I think so you read it with a sense of nostalgia and with the hindsight of knowing what was to follow in the next 18 or so years. Some things don't seem to have changed much - Liverpool are still on the telly a lot, but others are very different. (Carrow Rd could only fit in 20,000 following the renovation of the Barclay stand for example and Flecky patronised nightspots in Timberhill not PoW rd!)
There are also some other interesting chapters from some good writers about their teams' memorable seasons, mostly small, unglamorous clubs like Oxford, Raith Rovers and Cambridge.
My favourite book about the 1992/3 season is still the Kevin Baldwin 'Norfolk 'un good'. Definitely worth a read!
