Re the Audi A3 chat below.....

One of my finest moments was in an Audi A3. Many moons ago (was 20ish) I worked for Inchcape in contract hire. One of my colleagues had to get over to the hospital as his wife was taken ill. I was one of the only one's around so Bob my boss gave me the keys to an Audi A3 demo which had only just come out at the time. Drove him to the N&N with no problems but on the way back I started getting steam through the air vents. Along Newmarket road (as the whole car was filling with Steam/smoke) I pulled into the Eagle Car park and parked next to the great big tree in the centre. Went in the pub and called work who said they would get onto Audi, who would arrange to get it picked up although it would take a while. After a coke and seeing as it was nearly 3ish, I reasoned I wouldn't get back to work so decided on a pint. 3:45ish still no Audi man so had another. After 4 pints (or thereabouts) I got a call from the AA who asked about the car etc and asked if at all possible to move it so the back was facing the exit to the Car park. Well, I thought a simple task, and the engine would be on minutes. Because the smoke/steam, I thought I would leave the door open and reverse it back. Problem was, I sort of forgot about the tree and my judgement was slightly impaired. Keys in, reverse gear, door open, door hits tree, door on the car park floor. Ouch. Not sure what to do, I walked back in the pub, to which the barman simply said 'Never saw a thing mate'. Amazingly, Inchcape sort of covered it up and blamed it on a customer who had it out on demo. My boss just said 'never again' to me but never held it against me. The stupid things you do when your young!
