Self-belief and the Oli factor

Like everyone else in the ground last night I sat watching us huff and puff our way through 70 odd fruitless minutes before we made a breakthrough.

Certain that our precious points gap was going to be seriously eroded prior to tricky away games I had consigned myself to the belief that we had blown it and that promotion was a pipe dream...then something magical happened and 15 minutes later I left the ground believing that anything was possible.

I made my way to my local pub with a spring in my step and a song in my heart. On arrival (and believing that anything was now possible) I decided to ask out the barmaid who I had casually spoken to briefly a few times in the past. She had seemed receptive and good fun and I felt that we were quite well suited.

Waiting for the right moment I casually asked her for a pint and added that if she wasnt busy on Saturday it would be nice to buy her a drink and some dinner too. She replied "Sorry I'm not interested and if you ask again I'll get my boyfriend to see that you can't ask me again".

Cheers Oli.
