A long day but worth it
We travelled up from the Capital via Cambridge due to engineering works, and were with the London Exeter mob, a decent bunch. I was doubting my sanity at 9.00am this morning but back now and it was all worth it.
Not the best game and the twenty minutes or so after h/t were a little worrying. We?re going to slip up at FCR one day and it looked like today might be the one, but somehow we conjured a goal out of something and at 2-0 it was our day yet again.
The first goal was a little strange ? the ball just drifted over their centre back who never looked like he was going to get to it, and after that the game was a little flat. We could have scored a couple before h/t as could Exeter, but as usual, the oppo found a way not to score when it counts and City did.
A big fumble from Forster for their goal, but he?s been outstanding since the 90th minute against Leeds, and I?ve complete confidence in him as a keeper.
Holt got the sponsors MoM, but Rusty was very good again in a midfield that didn?t function that well, and Drury was excellent. A quiet game from Wes, but still a pass and a cross to set up two goals.
A cameo from Olli at the end who beat four players and almost put one in the top corner and next time he mis-controlled the ball. A raw talent at the mo.
We bumped into Mr Creosote and Camcan in Morrisons said our hellos and goodbyes, all happy with another win.
