Strikes me

that the last 2 managers, because of the traumas in their personal lives, had a perspective on football that differs from most of their peers. Gunny knows, that on the scale of bad things that can happen to you, a 1-7 defeat barely registers - which is why he seemed so calm about it, whereas most managers would go apes**t - like the Lynn bloke did at the weekend.
I suspect that to succeed in football you need to have a distorted view of how important it is.
