I think I was

At the end of April I was due to meet some Mexicans for work but didn't (was on a Saturday and after hanging around for a few hours went to football). About a week before the whole thing went mental.
During that week I acquired the worst cough I've ever had - and felt pretty lousy for over a month - just as I felt better it would restart.
Now I'm convinced that had I met the Mexicans and gone to the doctor mentioning this fact I would have been sitting in a nice little isolation ward. But as I ddn't I just had a bad cough. But I'm fairly certain that H1N1 has actually been around for longer than the first pig victim in Mexico.
