I've been as fed up with apparent negativity since Christmas as anyone, finding myself adopting the standard River End surly grumble through matches but I don't entirely blame Hoots for this. Most of his signings have done well, but the forwards and attacking midfielders he inherited have really not performed at anything like last seasons level. Holt in particular looks a season too long at this level and seems to keep his place more for the disruption he causes in opposition defences than his scoring prowess.. You can argue its Hoots tactics that have neutered our attacking intent, but I'm not sure whether its a 'chicken or egg' question - has he responded to problems with the attack, or have his tactics caused it? I don't think the case for him going is anything like clear cut yet - the comparison is more with Worthington who so obviously looked out of his depth in the Premier League and should have been ditched much sooner. Hoots doesn't look out of his depth, but the clubs budget has done. We're promised that stay up, debts are cleared and there is money for the squad - so IMcIT
