Absolutely the best cast list ever

I'd forgotten the opening titles of Deep Space Nine and how they'd weekly cause me giggles over my tea. But thanks to Virgin One, I've cause to remember (and be aware that these are the actors, not their characters):

Avery Brooks (a slow start there)
Rene Auberjonois
Cirroc Lofton
Siddig el Fadil
Armin Shimerman
Nana Visitor (absolutely splendid work, Nana)
and the slightly disappointing but satisfyingly female Terry Farrell, who really wasn't trying, unless she was having a stab at irony.

And nowadays of course it's impossible to watch it without breaking out into chants of "Earnie! Earnie!" from time to time.

MAHvellous. By the way: I'm no fan of SciFi and I'm no trekkie. It just used to be on at tea time in the days when BBC2 bothered to try to entertain you in your early evenings. And now i find myself missing Buffy, and Farscape.

Ahem.
