Andy Hughes (again) and the subject of Captains...

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but I noticed last night that he was straight down the tunnel after the game. Earlier in the season he was last off the pitch and clapping all 4 corners of the ground. Not last night.

Also, its gone very un-noticed and ceratinly I have read no official line from the club, but Hughes was made captain earlier in the season (even when Fleming was playing). Strangely, Fleming has now got the captaincy back again.

I thought it was shocking to give someone like Hughes the captaincy in the 1st place - I said 3 months ago he must have been the most undeserving captain in Norwich's history (appointed captain as well, not just one filling in...).

The only reason he seemingly got it was because he had "a loud voice, a good taker, and I lively personality" (quote from Worthy, circa August 2005!). Not because he was a leader in the sense of being able to take the game to the opposition and has the respect from his fellow pros (yeh, right. they must be pissing themselves!). I really think his appointment as captain has been overlooked and that that decision alone has had more of a detrimental effect on our "team" than we think, and ceratinly more than has been reported.

While I'm on the subject of captains, its not really been something Worthy has organised well is it?! Drury being captain was always a mistake. Flem was ignored 4 years or so ago (when it was given to Neil Emblen at first in 2002!!!). When Emblen was then injured, it was a good move to give to Roberts, though it probably should still have been either Malky or Flem at that time. I think Malky did eventually then get it when Roberts was injured/not playing, but for 2003/04 it was given to Drury instead o Flem. Hucks had it earlier in the season - never an ideal captain in my opinion!

Flem now finally gets it on a regular basis when he probably shouldn't now even be playing!!! All very confoosing. For what its worth, probably Saf would be my first choice now, followed by the doc. Anyone but Hooze.
