People will turn on the club when we our first 5 games produce something
like 1 win, 2 draws and 2 defeats. Somebody from the Pinkun will organise a protest from the swimming pool to Carrow Road demanding they get out of the club. Loads of fans will insult Delia and MWJ. The players will booed when we are 0-0 with Brentford at HT.
It will all die down as people just accept championship mediocrity as that's what so many fans are used to. But after two to three years of constant decline where we make all the wrong signings and have gone through 3 different managers we slowly face battles against relegation to League One and that's when things turn all s**te again as in the face of losing our parachute payments we are forced to sell the Murphy brothers to Stoke City for 5 million quid and we get Matthew Etherington on loan for the rest of the season in return who spends most of him back at Stoke getting treatment for his ?injury?. Ricky van Wolfswinkel leaves on a free after two years on loan to Besiktas who he calls ?a proper club with proper fans, at Norwich the fans never gave me any support and wondered why I wasn?t scoring, here in Turkey the fans really get behind you and I am proud to have reached double figures in both my seasons here? Twitter, pinkun and WOTB react with outrage at his comments whilst everybody laughs and reposts embarrassing posts from Norwich fans saying signings like Fer and Wolfy would have us comfortably in mid-table and challenging for cups. Fer moves to West Ham having been on strike for a year and we forced to sell for 500k.
In March 2017 we are 18th in The Championship having just lost to the scum 3-1 at home, it sparks a run of 5 defeats in 7 games leaving us 3pts adrift of safety. Players insulting fans, managers insulting players, fans against fans. We will then face a must win game in London to stay in the division, we collapse like we always do of course and are 3-0 down after 25mins to a team with nothing to play for. Fans have already accepted our fate by then and give the players a standing ovation for some odd reason.
We then draw our first couple of games in League One, pressure builds ahead of the East Anglian derby with newly promoted Cambridge whilst new manager Ian Holloway tries to decide whether to keep playing struggling Russell Martin at CB or bring somebody in to give the lads a hand. Up front we are struggling to score goals for the fifth season running and we try and sign Chris Martin on loan from Premier League Derby Country but are rejected and told he is still very much part of their plans having scored ten goals the previous season and everyone sees us as deluded for even trying.
In mid-September we suffer a 5-0 defeat to Nigel Worthington?s York City including a hattrick Jamar Loza which hammers home the extent of the decline and rumours appear that our debts are now so large we have to consider selling the ground. Fans want Holloway sacked and replaced with club legend Grant Holt who has just done his coaching badgers?
To be continued?
Something like that anyway.
