Match ratings

Green - 6 - Clean sheet, one great save, but also looked a bit shaky at times.

Colin - 7 - Only beaten once by Koumas early on in the game, after that he was solid and made some good overlaps and retained the ball well.

Doherty - 8 - Unbeatable in the air last night, tracked his man well and as a result the only chance his man had was to elbow Green in the head from a cross!

Davenport - 7 - Overall very solid, but what the hell was that clearance all about? Fortunately Greeno was fouled but that could have been very embarassing.

Drury - 6 - Seemed to go back into his shell last night. Not too many overlaps or penetrating runs in the first half. Did improve in the second half though.

Hughes - 4 - Should have scored that header, looked like he backed out of it a bit, which is something I wouldn't expect him to do. Obviously only lasted 5-10 minutes.

Safri - 7 - Knocked the ball around nicely, and there was some decent interplay between him and Jarrett. Several very good challenges in the middle of the park.

Jarrett - 7 - One word to sum this man up: Inconsistent. One moment he's made a complete cock-up of an attempted dribble down the right wing, the next he bursts through 2 men and puts a great ball in for Deano. 2nd half he seemed alot more assured, I think he just needs games.

Huckerby - 5 - Didn't really do alot. Not many of his mazing runs, but at least he retained posession a bit better than usual.

Ashton - 6 - Showed great strength on the ball on numerous occasions. He made several powerful runs with the ball and won several 50-50s in key areas. But again he's Coney-ing it wide of the target quite alot.

Henderson - 6 - Made some good intelligent runs, but was very rarely picked out. Not necessarily his fault, but I think he needed to get on the ball more often and do something with it. As a striker you're judged by goals, and he didn't look remotely like scoring last night.

McVeigh - 7 - Good all-round performance from Pocket. Didn't think he was Man of the Match, but still a solid performance with some need touches.

Brennan - 6 - I was impressed with the way he replaced Safri. Obviously he's never going to be quite as good as Youssef but he won several challenges and used the ball well. Didn't give the ball away cheaply like he has done in recent games. An improvement.

Fleming - 5 - Didn't have much to do. Didn't seem to know whether to mark the space or help out the centre-backs as the game drew to a close.

Overall, I think we did enough to deserve the win, but we'll have to be 10 times better if we want to get anything from the Gold Scum.
